Cognitive Enhancement Services

General Neurofeedback Services

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, brain-based biofeedback intervention that facilitates the brain’s own capacity toward greater self-regulation, efficiency, and stability. It is an approach that affords the brain an opportunity to learn about its own electrical processes via moment-to-moment feedback. With neurofeedback, it’s as if we can put a mirror in front of the brain so that it has information about itself, which it can use to adjust toward more optimal functioning. As dysregulation is addressed through neurofeedback, benefits are conferred to mood, sleep, and much more.

Therapy Services

We offer personal counseling services and therapy services that can be utilized as part of a neurofeedback package or independently. Some presenting concerns, such as situational phobias (e.g., driving), emotion regulation, relaxation and arousal management, attentional concerns, can benefit from a combination of therapy with simultaneous and/or intermittent neurofeedback training.

Cognitive Enhancement Services

Our specialty is exploring the extent to which we can affect our cognitive performance as a function of training via non-medication, brain-based interventions. Neuro+ is founded on the notion that we already have within ourselves the power to grow and develop and research on neuroplasticity and constructs like Growth Mindset demonstrate that we may be able to cultivate and train our brains just like muscles in the body.

Cognitive Training is an approach that involves cognitive tasks, usually presented in a game-like format, administered in a tailored fashion to enhance cognitive performance. Unlike “brain training” apps advertised in popular media, professional cognitive training requires a trained clinician who can identify and target “weak links” that create obstacles to more optimal functioning. Like the approach of a physical trainer, the information gleaned from this assessment is used to create a highly individualized training plan/schedule.

Mental/Cognitive Performance Consulting is a collection of strategies, techniques, and mindset to help maximize mental performance. Examples of techniques used include relaxation strategies, focus, selective filtering, and Mindfulness to help individuals maximize their efficiency during high-level performance. Such approaches can be beneficial across all performance domains, including elite athletic competitions, performing arts, work/occupational performance, school and test performance, and family roles.

Task-Based Neurofeedback is something entirely new. Traditional forms of neurofeedback often involve training in a passive state (e.g. watching a movie). Though this is appropriate for a variety of presenting concerns, it may not be optimal when the goal of training is to enhance the way in which our brains carry out cognitive work. Task-Based Neurofeedback combines both neurofeedback and cognitive training; it involves the application of neurofeedback under task positive conditions (meaning under cognitive/mental load) to address the complete attentional system.

Assessment Services

We provide psychological assessment for learning, cognitive, and attention issues. Through this evaluative process, a comprehensive assessment of the individual’s areas of strength and weakness is conducted, the results of which can be used to inform the provision of cognitive enhancement services.
